Force 9 Energy has submitted a request for a scoping opinion to Aberdeenshire Council for its proposed windfarm 1.5km to the east of Aberchirder in the Banff and Buchan Area and is currently assessing the responses from consultees. A Met Mast Application has also been recently approved by Aberdeenshire Council.

We are continuing to gather environmental and technical information about the project but our current design is for a windfarm of up to 4 turbines, each 100m to blade tip. We are however considering designs which may include for a larger number of smaller turbines, or fewer larger turbines. Our ongoing landscape and visual appraisal will help us define a site design which fits best with the site characteristics and surrounding area. We intend to consult with the local Aberchirder and Fogie Loan community on our site design in the next few months, details of which will be widely published across the local community and also available on this site shortly.
